Gionee Pioneer P2M launched with $110 price tag in India
Chinese device maker Gionee has quietly lifted the veils off a new Gionee Pioneer P2M smartphone. The Pioneer P2M is a remix of the two-year-old Gionee Pioneer P2 which has since been updated and succeeded by newer P series models.
The Gionee Pioneer P2M comes with a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) touchscreen, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Amigo UI skin atop.
At the back, you’ll find a 5-megapixel rear shooter plus LED flash for lightening and on the opposite side, the phone houses a 2-megapixel selfie camera to round off the camera system which comes with scene detection, face recognition, Panorama, geo-tagging, Best shot, Smile shot, and HDR features.
Perhaps, the biggest update on the P2M is the battery. The smartphone is equipped with a 3,000mAh battery unit which is miles larger than the 1,700 cell you’ll find on the original P2. The latter measures 124 x 62.5 x 10.9 mm and is officially priced INR 6,999 (about $110) and will appear in offline and online retail shops in India shortly.
