HTC A9 coming with 10-core MediaTek MT6797 processor
In a generation of smartphones where the likes of Qualcomm Snapdragon, Exynos and Apple Ax chipsets command the highend sector, HTC’s upcoming hero smartphone is going to do its thing with a MediaTek chipset.
Not just any MediaTek chipset, the handset was spotted over the weekend blasting through AnTuTu with a top-of-the-shelf MediaTek MT6797 processor. The smartphone scored an impressive 5884 points with the deca-core CPU which puts Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and its Exynos 7420 chipset to shame with their 5375 score on the multi core test.
Interestingly, the HTC A9 was recorded as having 4GB of RAM in the benchmark test. The phone was running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop during the exercise.
The smartphone is expected to go official before the end of September.
