HTC fails to meet “15-day” promise for updates on the HTC One A9
Recalling as far back as the month of July, HTC made an announcement that they would be pushing some of their smartphones – the HTC 10, HTC One M9 and the HTC One A9 – to the Android Nougat upon the software’s release and they also made a very interesting leak that they would be providing any Android update that the Nexus gets to these smartphones within the first 15 days of rolling out to the Google inspired smartphones.
Now that the Nougat is truly here, they have spoken up about their former promise and given a vague time line as to when we would really be seeing the effects of this new OS on the listed smartphones but unfortunately for them, they would not be able to meet the 15-day promise that they gave as at the time of launch of the One A9.
Given that Google just started to release the factory images to the Nougat a few hours ago, this should normally give HTC the chance to keep true to their word and provide the update to the A9 on or before the 6th of September but given that they have said the One M9 and HTC 10 would be getting it before this one, we don’t see how they would shell out everything in the same time frame and keep to this promise.
For now, it seems that the promise has already been broken before it started at all.
