HTC holds position as top smartphone seller in Taiwan
Industry sources have revealed HTC’s dominance in it’s home country of Taiwan where the OEM has held on to top spot as highest smartphone vendor for the fourth month running.
Statistics show a 3.5 % decline in sales for the month of August 2014, even as the Taiwanese market still enjoyed 687,000 smartphones sold through.
HTC guaranteed it’s foothold with 22 % while Asus, who recently left the shore of the country for some Indian adventure took up 16 % and Samsung, being the only foreigner on the top 3, had it’s name on 15 % of smartphones sold in Taiwan during last month.
In terms of revenue, HTC unsurprisingly generated the most revenue from the market in August. The Taiwanese bagged 25 % of all the monies that was made during the month while Samsung and Sony came second and third at 19 % and 14 %.
