HTC One A9 (HTC’s “hero” phone) full details arrive
Among the few things we knew about HTC and their upcoming “hero” smartphone is that the Taiwanese OEM is making use of a deca-core chipset by MediaTek to power the device. That, according to a new rumor making rounds on the Internet, has been changed as HTC is now said to have struck an agreement to use a Qualcomm-made chipset instead.
The ever informing tipstar Evan Blass of @evleaks — whose leaks are usually point blank accurate anyway — has informed us that the HTC One A9 (the final name of the HTC hero phone) will be coming with a 5-inch AMOLED display which has Full HD resolution, a 13-megapixel camera unit with optical image stabilization and front-facing 4MP UltraPixels camera.
HTC is said to be using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset to power the phone’s engine while a 2GB RAM and 16GB of expandable storage are also expected inside the chassis. Speaking of design, the One A9 will measure less than 7 mm — keep in mind that Apple’s iPhone 6s is 7.1 mm while Samsung’s Galaxy S6 measures 6.8 mm. Alleged photos of the phone suggests it shares a striking resemblance with the Apple iPhone.
Blass also mentioned a November 2015 launch period for the HTC phone though he wasn’t specific with the exact date. He also said the phone will arrive in six colors and will feature a fingerprint sensor.
