HTC One M9 variant with 5.1″ QHD, MediaTek CPU hits the benchmarks
A suspected variant of HTC’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9, has left footprints on a benhmarks website where HTC engineers was purportedly testing the handset.
The device labeled as HTC 0PK71 was spotted on CompuBench rocking a 5.1-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) touchscreen whereas the HTC One M9 being touted by several reports features a 5″ Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixles ) display. This could mean the HTC 0PK71 is a variant for “special” market like China where specs are usually king, however, the 0PK71 could be another smartphone altogether.
The 0PK71 is powered by MediaTek’s 64-bit MT6595 chipset which comes equipped with two packs of quad CPU cores tuned at different frequencies. The device has a 20MP back camera and 13-megapixel front-facing secondary camera. There’s a single SIM slot, 3GB of RAM and 32GB ROM.
The specs are somehow confusing as HTC flagship variants models for China usually go with dual SIM slot. We’ll ask you to digest this story with a pinch of salt until we can verify the authenticity of its contents.
