HTC starts accepting pre-orders for the U Ultra in Taiwan
A couple of weeks ago, HTC took the veils off a new unit and this one they called the U Ultra. The best thing about this unit had to be the Sapphire crystal glass that it used for screen, but the worst part was that they wouldn’t let you have one of those units… at least, not yet.
The Sapphire edition is a limited thing, and we expect it to launch sometimes later in the year. However, we have been through a lot of fake leaks on new technology like this, and we didn’t want you to think too much of it. well, we think we want you to think too much of it now.
As of today, HTC has, in Taiwan, announced that it would start t take the pre-orders for the U Ultra and the sales would go live from the middle of February. Shipping would start towards the end of the month and maybe, spread into early March. We expect that there are special gifts for those that would get theirs on pre-order, but we don’t know what it would be yet.
From what we now, the U Ultra version that would use a regular glass would sell for TWD 23,900 ($760) on 64GB memory option and for twice the storage, we should be looking at TWD 28,900 ($920).
