Huawei Ascend P7 successor with sapphire glass in tow as CEO hints at “shocking products”
Asked about his thoughts on future Huawei products, Yu Chengdong who is the company’s Device Chairman and Consumer BG CEO said that “shocking products” are coming.
To prove his point Mr. Chengdong whipped out a special model of his company’s flagship smartphone, the Huawei Ascend P7, complete with sapphire glass display instead of the normal IPS touchscreens that has been the norm for recent smartphones.
The excited CEO then challenged the interviewer to attack his phone’s display with sharp knife to which the journalist obliged.
What this means is that the Apple iPhone 6 isn’t the only phone interested in the rock-hard sapphire display, Huawei is also ready for the show. We don’t even know if Samsung’s rumored Galaxy Alpha which is a direct competitor to the iPhone 6 will bear a sapphire display.
