Huawei Ascend P7 variant with sapphire display is in tow
After chief executive Yu Chengdong flashed his Ascend P7 with sapphire glass, it got many licking their lips in awe as such treatment seems to be reserved for company executives and co.
But that is no more. In fact, right as we are speaking now, Huawei is mass-producing an Ascend P7 variant with the much-touted “unbreakable” sapphire glass instead of normal IPS LCD displays.
Chengdong, yesterday said the phone might break cover at the 2014 IFA which kicks off next month in Berlin. With the help of Google Translate, what we could make out from Chengdong’s Weibo post was that Huawei has decided the Ascend P7 will be experimented with the sapphire glass solution after an opinion poll was conducted for fans.
Till September 4 (when the IFA starts), we’ll fold our arms and watch as events unfold. After then, another sapphire display-touting flagship will break cover, in December — the 5.5″ Apple iPhone 5L.
