Huawei beats Xiaomi to top spot Chinese OEM – Canalys
Xiaomi, who recently claimed to have the “best” smartphone in the market and formerly the largest smartphone manufacturing brand in China ave lost the top spot to Huawei, who would be coming out tops for the first time since business opened for them in China. This claim was made by a recent study carried out by Canalys which saw a variety of factors work against Xiaomi in retaining the top spot.
As at the end of September 30 for example, Huawei‘s mobile phone shipments had risen to an astonishing 81% while Xiaomi’s shipments went down and further down in this time period likewise. This defined much better sales for the guys over at Huawei that was seen at Xiaomi and this might just be an handwriting on the wall for Xiaomi, spelling out trouble.
Xiaomi has remained largely successful in the smartphone market mainly because of the fact that it offers really high end smartphones for less than what other manufacturers would have, thereby driving the support of the pocket-conscious crowd. This not being the first time Xiaomi has been replaced at the top of the table, it is left to see if they would return from this one.
