Huawei starts sending out press invites for Kirin 960 chipset unveiling
It was back in April when we first confirmed that truly, Huawei would be making a new chipset and this one would improve on that we saw last year. Also, we found out that they are planning to launch it this year and with that news in tow, there is no doubt that they would want to debut it on a device of their own also, making none other than the yet to be launched Mate 9 the only one that could carry this kind of new technology.
We have known that Huawei has never been a fan of going out to source for the chipsets that it makes use of in its devices and while others are greatly patronising the likes of QUALCOMM and MediaTek, not forgetting Samsung who have started to become a major player with its Exynos sets, they have decided to invest all of that money to making strong ships of their own and this has been paying off.
From the latest speculations hat e have fielded, the latest Kirin 960 chipset which is expected to be produced on the highly effective 16nm process would carry an octa core and would be able to reach a clock speed of 2.53GHz
