Huawei to pair up with Leica again for camera technology on the Mate 9
One of the things that made the launch of the Huawei P9 a thing to look forward to was the news we got that Leica would be working with the Asian OEM to make spectacular camera units for this smartphone.
When the smartphone then launched, they happily carried the name of the camera maker on the back of their device alongside their own name and even though the cameras didn’t really live up to the hype that was created around them, they were far from bad altogether.
With recent news now again, it seems that Huawei is not done with partnering this firm and they would love to make use of their expertise once again on the make of a new camera unit for the Huawei Mate 9. We have already heard that instead of making use of one camera unit on the back, this flagship would also be going in the line of new trends and use double units instead. This alone is a joy in itself due to the quality of pictures taken by two camera units.
From the report, the camera nits that would be built by Leica would not only have OIS, they would also come as autofocus units and feature analogue zoom.
