Huawei’s Ascend Mate 2 to jump to Lollipop straight from Jelly Bean
Around this time last year, talks of Huawei releasing an Ascend Mate 2 smartphone were in the air. Months later, in January 2014 precisely, the Chinese tech company finally released the smartphone and inside it’s core ran Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS which wasn’t exactly the latest Android version out then.
Pleas by customers for the smartphone to be upgraded to Android 4.4 (KitKat) officially fell on deaf ears as the company announced it has no future plans to update the phablet.
Now, with the release of Android 5.0 (Android Lollipop) by Google, Huawei has made a u-turn on it’s decision and now claim that an official Android 5.0 ROM has been cooked for the Ascend Mate 2 (also known as Huawei Ascend Mate 2) and will be released in no distant time. Huawei was quick to outline that US customers will have to wait a little longer than the others when the update starts seeding.
