iBeats? Beats By Jobs? Apple wants to buy Beats Audio for $3.2 billion
Reports are quickly gathering momentum that Apple wants to buy Audio and sound enhancement maker, Beats Audio for $3.2.
Beats Audio was established in 2008 by hip-hop rapper and producer, Dr. Dre, and music producer Jimmy Iovine in and is headquartered in Santa Monica, California, USA.
HTC formerly held a 50.1% stake in the company worth $300 but went on to sell off it’s stake for $415 million in two auctions.
The last time Beats was estimated, it had $1 billion to it’s name so that means Apple is going to overpay for the company but the Cupertino phone maker wouldn’t mind paying anything to get rid of competition especially now Beats introduced a music streaming service called Daisy that could pose a threat to Apple’s iTunes Radio.
