Jolla smartphone lands in India, costs INR 16,499
Finally, Indians who wish to have a breath of fresh air for a new mobile OS can have their wish. The Jolla phone arrived, and it’s running on Sailfish OS — which supports some Android applications.
Pricing for the self-named phone is lowly set, though not all users in the region will agree. Nonetheless, all Jolla asks for is 16,499 Indian rupees which is roughly $370 using the current exchange rates. Interestingly, the first 90 buyers will get a free additional cover for their smartphones.
For the books, Jolla Jolla is having a 4.5-inch IPS display with 560 x 940 pixels resolution. It’s Snapdragon 400 chipset delivers a 1.4GHz dual core CPU and an Adreno 305 image box added with 16GB ROM and a gig of RAM that helps propel the engine.
The phone features an 8MP rear camera, 2MP selfie unit , a 2100mAh battery LTE, NFC and Gorilla Glass 2 protection for the screen.
