Leaked specs of Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 details high specs, slim slates
Last year, we saw Samsung unveil two of the most-spec’d devices in tablet history namely the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. This month, talks are on-going about the replacements for these sales even as one year hasn’t passed since the first generation devices were launched.
According to industry sources, the next Tab S devices will land with 8.0-inch and 9.7-inch display, thus, bearing the names Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7. The same stream suggested the tablets will bear Samsung’s 5433 processor even though though there’s a possibility the Exynos 7420 will be used in the final product.
The second generation slates will have 2048 × 1536 pixels of resolution, instead of the 2560 × 1600. This will give the 8.0-incher a 377 PPI while the 9.7″ tab will score 331 pixel density. There will be 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage on-board both devices. The smaller tab will have a 3,580mAh battery unit while the 9.7″ will have a 5,870mAh power cell. The camera on both tabs still remain 8MP (from the first gen).
Best part of the story is that both tablets are going to become the slimmest tablets ever commercially produced. With both sporting a 5.4″ waistline thickness, there’s no chance for the Apple iPad Air 2 at 6.1 mm. The tabs are purportedly sporting metal frames and may land during the MWC in March.
