Lenovo Vibe S1 gets certified with 5.1″ display, 1.7GHz octa-core processor
In China, a new Lenovo phone has gotten approval from authorities there. The unreleased Lenovo Vibe S1 surfaced from TEENA documents found on the agency’s website this morning.
Sporting a 5.1″ FHD touchscreen, the 7.85 mm-thin Lenovo device looks to mark the beginning of a new “S” series from the Chinese tech maker. Well, whatever it is, it surely isn’t going to be a flagship smartphone lineup to say, because looking at the device’s specs, everything points down to the release of another affordable mid ranger handset which has been tradition at Lenovo in the past few months.
The engine inside the Lenovo Vibe S1 is manned by a 1.7GHz octa-core CPU from an unspecified maker and source. There’s 2GB of RAM as well as an expandable 16GB of storage while the dual SIM slot available on the device is going to offer LTE support — with everything powered by a 2,420mAh battery.
In terms of software, Android 5.0 Lollipop steps in to power the OS of the Vibe S1. With this, we are definitely expecting to see a lot of camera tricks and filters available to the 13MP primary and secondary 5MP snappers when the device breaks cover.
Speaking of a launch date, none has been mentioned regarding the Vibe S1 but we are counting on a nearby time frame for Lenovo to carefully drop this piece.
