Micromax Canvas Selfie phone released for the selfie-obsessed
If you are a selfie freak and live within the confines of India, Micromax is ready to help you take you take your obsession to the next level. Called the Micromax Canvas Selfie, this smartphone is dedicated to taking portrait pictures of yourself.
For starters, the Canvas Selfie has a 13-megapixel Sony camera on both sides — front and back — complete with LED flash for each camera. The phone has a 4.7″ HD screen as well as a 1.7GHz octa-core CPU and 2GB of RAM. Your selfies can be stored in the device’s 16GB internal storage but you can have further memory if you choose to expand with a 64GB microSD card.
Booting on the Canvas Selfie is Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat software. The smartphone supports two SIM cards on GSM and 3G bands as well as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack for playing the phone’s in-built FM radio.
The Micromax Canvas Selfie will be available from the second week of January 2015 though Micromax is still yet to let the bell the cat. However, the phone maker says the smartphone will be available both in offline and online stores.
“With over a million selfies being taken every day, out of which 40 per cent claim to re-touch them, we have created a perfect blend of hardware and software to give you that perfect selfie,” CEO Vineet Taneja commented.
