Micromax’s Yu Yureka sold out in seconds
In India, Micromax’s new brand of smartphones had a successful touchdown on Tuesday as the company reportedly sold out initial copies of the handset within seconds.
10,000 units of the Yu Yureka were placed on sale on 13th January, however, the product’s order page on Amazon was gone shortly after the sales took off and instead replaced with a “We are out of stock” notice. “Watch this space for more detail,” the page read.
More details on ground is that the smartphone will return on sale on the 22nd of January still exclusively on Amazon India. The amount of units to be made available on that day hasn’t been specified yet but Micromax hopes this “Zeus of smartphones” can really replicate the success of Xiaomi’s uber-cheap smartphones in the country.
The Yureka is a 5.5″ 720p smartphone with a 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor and 2GB of RAM inside. The smartphone is powered by CyanogenMod OS (an Android OS tweak) and features a 13MP rear and 5MP front shooters.
