One year later, the Samsung Galaxy J5 gets Marshmallow update
Samsung has launched the Galaxy J5 into the market for more than a year now and even though the users have been expecting an update for a while, they are just getting one after a new calendar has been taken on the smartphone.
People that have been customers of the South Korean OEM would have already known that the company isn’t the best when it comes to timely releases of updates and given that this is an entry level device, the wait is like justified in their doing.
However, they have now considered the users of this smartphone as a new update which they are rolling out to the units is carrying a bump that would see them get to the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. From what we have gathered so far, this update is available to those in Netherlands but if you are in other parts of Europe likewise, it is worth a shot checking to see if those same software update is hitting your smartphone.
This means that the users of the Galaxy J5 can now make use of advanced features such as the Google Now On Tap, advanced app permissions and every other goody that the Marshmallow desserts brings in the bag.
