Oppo Neo 5 (2015) goes official
China’s Oppo Mobiles has just officially unveiled two handsets. One device is the Oppo Neo 5s, which was quietly listed online last month. The other handset, the Oppo Neo 5 (2015), comes as a successor to the 2014-released Oppo Neo 5.
While it’s quite refreshing to have new things on ground, both new Oppo handsets clearly aren’t the greatest upgrades you’ll make if you are already a Neo 5 user. They retain the same 4.5″ FWVGA display, 1GB of RAM and jump just one step from Android 4.3 in the latter to Android 4.4 KitKat OS, adding an extra slice of 100mAh battery and using an 8MP camera instead of a 5MP one.
Internally, the Oppo Neo 5s boasts of a quad-core Snapdragon 400 chipset with LTE while the Neo 5 (2015) settles with a lower range quad-core MediaTek MT6582 one which is limited to a maximum of 21 mbps downloads on 3G connections.
Pricing and availability blueprint for both handsets hasn’t been made known to the public but we’ll relay that to you guys once details arrive.
