Oppo R5’s crown will be stolen on 10th December
Gionee Elife S5.5 was heck, a very thin device with 5.5 mm thickness. It used to be the thinnest smartphone available until the same company made another device called the Elife S5.1 which has 5.15 mm thickness as it’s name depicts.
Not long ago (in November actually), another Chinese phone maker which goes by the name Oppo, produced a yet thinner device called Oppo R5. Oppo R5 is 4.95 mm thick and it’s the world’s thinnest smartphone now — even though it’s not yet recognized by Guinness World Records unlike Gionee’s Elife S5.1.
However, on the 10th of this month, yet another Chinese company is set to break the record for the third time in two months. Vivo’s X5 Max smartphone is said to be packing a 3.7 mm body. Keep in mind that this phone still has a 3.5mm headphone jack despite it’s thinness.
Other specs for the X5 Max will be a 5.5-inch 1080p body, 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek CPU, 13MP/5MP camera, 2GB of RAM and a body that measures 153.9 × 78 × 4.75 mm.
