Oppo R9S to feature rear dual camera units to be made by Sony
The Oppo R9S is yet to launch but at this stage of its life cycle, it has ceased to be both a myth and a secret as we have had numerous leaks unofficially. Officially also, they have started to open up on what is coming as there have already been TV commercials running in China to prepare the way for the device in the country and elsewhere that it would be launching too.
Sending out invites for an event that is set to hold on the 19th of October, we know that this is what the company is planning to unveil on that day.
We now have new info on the R9S again before its official launch and directed at the camera units, we got to know that it would make use of dual camera units on the back and these would be supplied by none other than Sony – one of the best smartphone camera makers in the market right now.
The cameras are specifically Sony IMX398 sensors and for comparison, this means that it is some 98 times better than the ones that Sony themselves have employed on their Xperia high end line of devices.
While they have made no mention of the R9S Plus, we are still optimistic of a release and as at the date that they have set, we think that we would be seeing something worthy of note then.
