Philips I908 to become world’s thinnest smartphone?
Where are smartphones heading to? Will there be a time when smartphones will be less than an inch thick? What’s in the future? Will bulky phones eventually return?
The picture above is a render of the legendary Nokia 6600. With it’s 24mm-thickness body, the Symbian smartphone was the crave of the moment in 2004.
Fast-forward to 2014, we have the Gionee Elife S5.5 (pictured above) which is about 5 times thinner than the beast above. Phones are now as costly as much thin they are.
Well, lets get to what we have today. It’s the I908 by Philips which was teased online by the company.
Judging from the way Philips was teasing the phone, it seems the throne of the slimmest might soon be taken by another real soon.
Specs we have for the Philips I908 includes a 5″ 1080p display, 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 2GB of RAM and a 13-megapixel camera.
The I908 may be unveiled this month it seems. We’ll keep you updated once that happens so you can see for yourself if it’s the new slimmest.
