Pink colour variant of the Sony Xperia XZ hits UK markets
One marketing strategy that smartphone makers have perfected over the years is the use of variants to tease a variety of markets. They have been in the habit of creating different variants of the same smartphone and then launching them with reference to region, carrier or any other factor that they see fit and looking at the likes of Sony, this knowledge is not lost on them.
One of the most common ones that they do is the deactivation of fingerprint scanners on their high end devise that are heading to the US market (and for no apparent reason too).
When the Sony Xperia XZ first launched, we saw it advertised in a variety of colours then and with one being the Pink, it didn’t launch in any market up until now where it is being featured in the United Kingdom as an O2 exclusive. This means that if you are not a Brit and you don’t stay in the country, you won’t be able to get the pink flavour that is just hitting the table.
We are thinking that in the near future, they would be introducing this colour option elsewhere also but for the US residents, we advise you not to hold your cash in wait for this one. If they could remove the fingerprint scanner from units headed that way, they surely won’t go through the trouble of marketing this one there.
