Samsung Galaxy S5 Active hits the benchmarks with specs
Samsung has a tradition of making an “Active” variant of their flagship device with rugged protection features.
Last year’s Galaxy S4 Active did well, with dust and water resistance, it was the toast of anyone who wants to use a Galaxy S4 then, but thinks it’s too fragile.
This year’s Samsung Galaxy S5 is water and dust-proof already (IP67-certified), so it’s Galaxy S5 Active model should be just tougher, with many expecting it will feature even more resistance that a mighty fall on the cold hard ground won’t break anything.
According to our benchmark reference, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active, compared to the Samsung Galaxy S5, doesn’t make much difference in terms of common phone specs — 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution, 16MP rear and 2MP front-facing cameras, 2GB RAM with Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, 16GB storage and Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS.
