Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo set to arrive with Galaxy S6’s new Exynos processor
If you like the 2014 Samsung Galaxy S5 but have a crush on the kind of 64-bit Exynos chipset used in this year’s Galaxy S6, it looks like Samsung has molded something special for you.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo was spotted (not pictured) by Sammobile ticking with a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7580 processor inside it’s engine. Despite a promise to cut back on the amount of phone variant it produces, Samsung will sometime later this year, go ahead to unleash this device which has almost everything in common with the Galaxy S5, except for a newer processor.
The source claims that the Galaxy S5 Neo is sporting a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 2GB of RAM and expandable 16GB of storage. The handset will carry a 2,800mAh battery, inside a body that measures 142 × 72.5 × 8.1 mm and tips the scale at 145 grams — just like the regular S5. To round off the known specs, there’s a 16MP main camera and 2.1MP front-facing selfie taker while the software side is run by Google’s Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
No dates were given for the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo.
