Samsung Galaxy S6 Active arrives in first renders
Every year, shortly after the release of their Galaxy S handset, Samsung usually creates a tougher, rigidly designed “Active” model of the company’s flagship. This year’s Samsung Galaxy S6 Active seems to be already in the tunnel, ready to succeed 2014’s Galaxy S5 Active.
We spotted the first live pictures of the Galaxy S6 Active at GSMArena on Tuesday, thanks to their “anonymous tipster” who uploaded the photos.
Maintaining the rugged build the Active lineup is ever known for — even though the base phone (Samsung Galaxy S6 is a pretty phone) — the Galaxy S6 Active was spotted with AT&T branding and this automatically means the carrier is going to offer the smartphone in the United States, if the pictures turn out to be real.
This year’s model is expected to feature water and dust resistance in addition to other kinds of protection which would keep it going even in harsh working conditions. The phone will reportedly feature a 3,500mAh battery so you don’t easily run out of juice out there.
No release/launch dates were mentioned for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Active but we do expect the handset to arrive with a 5.1″ QHD display, Exynos 7420 SoC, 3GB RAM, 16MP camera, and pretty much everything else the GS6 has.
