Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 goes official with 8″ and 9.7″ variants
At long last, Samsung’s new generation high def tablets are finally here. Coming in a season of raining slim Samsung devices, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is the company’s slimmest tablet ever at only 5.6 mm thickness, and possibly their most powerful slate as well.
Said CEO J.K. Shin: “The Galaxy Tab S2 is not only our thinnest and lightest tablet of its size ever, it also gives users quick, easy access to a wealth of superior viewing and productivity features.”
The tablet comes in an 8-inch form as well as a 9.7-incher for those who love it larger. Both slates sport a similar 1536 x 2048 pixels in resolution while under the hood, you’ll find an octa-core CPU (quad 1.9GHz and quad 1.3GHz), 3GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of in-built storage depending on the configuration.
Both devices run on Android 5.0 Lollipop, feature an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 2.1MP shooter. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 (the model with an 8-inch display) weighs a total of 265 grams with its 4,000mAh battery while the larger Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 (9.7-inch display) tips the scale at 389 grams with a 5,870mAh energy cell.
Pricing for the tablets will be announced next month when they roll out on the shelves.
