Samsung now locks new phones to regions
Samsung Mobile may have taken the worst move of it’s life if this comes out to reality. Pictures of stickers has slapped to the box of Samsung devices has been popping up on the Internet in the last couple of days.
The stickers indicate that the phone will be usable with a SIM from specific regions or continents. Meaning you have to pay hefty roaming charges to use your Samsung phone when you travel out of the region the device is locked to.
Samsung Germany has confirmed that it has already started implementing the decision covering Galaxy SII, Galaxy SIII, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S4 Mini and Note 3 devices produced after the end of July 2013.
If this trend come to reality, Samsung has to be ready to face the music, as customers who travel across regions might not take the issue lightly.
