Samsung: People aren’t obsessed with Apple’s monopoly anymore
Jae Shin, a top executive of Samsung, has hinted that people are no longer buying phones based on fanboyism but on what he calls “know-how” basis.
“Historically, whether it be the iPhone helping to bring about the smartphone revolution, or the iPad driving tablet computers to the mainstream, it’s been the hype surrounding the launch of an Apple product that has kickstarted interest in a new type of technology,” Shin said.
“Consumers are lot smarter these days and there’s a lot for information available to them,” he added.
Jae Shin — totally different from Samsung Mobile CEO, JK Shin– stressed that consumsers are interested in what a product does, regardless of it has an Apple or Samsung logo on.
Shin may be right to an extent. However, statistics prove that the higher majority of customers stay loyal to their brand even though if a steady decline happens slowly later on.
