Samsung SM-A500 goes to TEENA, more specs revealed
IF you are regular reader of BestMobs News, you must have come across an unreleased Samsung device modeled the Samsung SM-A500. The phone is a metal-rounded device like the Samsung Galaxy Alpha though the two phones slightly differ in class.
The Samsung SM-A500 was sighted in far away China where it had gone to obtain electronic approval from TEENA, a China’s regulatory board that approves devices standards before they are made available in the market.
According to the listing, the SM-A500 was packing a 5-inch HD screen (we heard it’s AMOLED), a 1.2GHz CPU which we suspect is a Snapdragon 410. A 13MP camera and 5MP front-facer were said to be bestowed on the device. The rest of the specs include a 16GB storage which can be expanded unlike the Galaxy Alpha, 2GB of RAM and a pretty slim 139.3 x 69.7 x 6.7 mm body which weighs only 126 grams — same thickness as Apple’s iPhone 6.
Samsung SM-A500 isn’t the device’s final name and since it has reached TEENA stages, what it means is that the smartphone will break cover real soon and we should be able to find out the name and answers to other questions we’ve been asking like whether there will be availability of fingerprint sensor.
