Samsung to make 2K, 4k resolution phones by 2014 and 2015, 64-bit processor in the works
Samsung has detailed plans on how it will make phones with screens that have 1440 x 2560 pixels as resolution by 2014, and the ones with 3840 x 2160 pixels by 2015.
It seems the phone industry is on a PPI craze, the Vivo Xplay3S is set to debut with a 5.7″ 1440 x 2560-pixel screen, bringing the pixels per inch on this smartphone to 515 PPI. And now Samsung has announced it will follow suit by making 1440 x 2560 2K WQHD resolution phones by 2014.
In 2015, we might see something like a Samsung Galaxy S6 with 800 over pixels per inch as the Koreans also said they are making 3840 x 2160 aka 4K Ultra HD displays by then.
Samsung further announced that they are going to use self-made 64-bit processors in next year flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S5, following suit of Apple’s A7 64-bit processor on the Apple’s iPhone 5s , which a Qualcomm executive who later took back his words called a gimmick.
