Sony Xperia M2 siblings get Android 4.4.4 KitKat
Sony says it will be upgrading all of it’s Xperia Z lineup to Android Lollipop but before then, the Japanese company has started seeding Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system to it’s Xperia M2 series.
Coming with a build number 18.3.1.C.0.21, the update arrives on both the Sony Xperia M2 and Sony Xperia M2 Dual, leaving behind the water-proof model known as Sony Xperia M2 Aqua. The update brings some freshness to the smartphones as well as squashing bugs found out to be present in the older build 18.3.C.0.40 for the devices.
The Sony Xperia M2 comes with a 4.8″ qHD screen, 1GB of RAM, 8GB storage, an 8MP camera, FM radio and a non-removable Li-Ion 2300mAh battery.
Sony has announced it will cut down the size of it’s phone portfolio by reducing the number of mobile phone models it produces. This is in line with the company’s bid to stop reporting massive losses in it’s phone business and the move might see series like the Xperia M go.
