Sony’s Android 4.4.4 KitKat update now rolling out to Xperia Z1 Compact
It’s not a typo, you heard that: Sony
is bringing has brought Android 4.4.4 KitKat to the 6 months-old Sony Xperia Z1 Compact.
The smartphone recently enjoyed an upgrade to Android 4.4.3 KitKat at just the beginning of this month and Sony has already started seeding out Android 4.4.4 KitKat instantly.
Google first started rolling out Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS just last week and the Nexus 5 was the first device to enjoy the update, Sony’s smartphone was next.
Sony hasn’t made any version of Android KitKat on it’s Xperia Z1 smartphone which the Z1 Compact mirrors the image of a mini version to, and that might be a result of sales numbers.
As it stands, the Xperia Z1 Compact seems to represent a higher sales percentage than the Xperia Z1 so the Japanese company decided to give more attention on the higher selling, and effectively, more important device.
