Sunset of smartwatches in the US: Huawei TalkBand B1 released, Moto 360 now on T-Mobile
The United States is clearly the one of if not the most competitive market for electronics. This year alone, we’ve seen at least 10 popular smartwatch products launched in the land of freedom. Talk about the LG G Watches, Samsung Gear’s, the Moto 360’s and even the Will.I.ams’.
Even at that, more brands are penetrating the market of which Huawei is the latest. With a $129.99-price tag, the Huawei TalkBand B1 sports a 1.4-inch OLED display. You see, the device is not exactly a smartwatch, it rather falls under a category called smartbands — smaller smartwatches with less screen and less functionality and of course, with wristband design.
The TalkBand B1 has been discussed on this website before, to refresh your memories, the device has a 90mAh battery and supports both Android (2.3 or later) and iOS (5.0 or later) devices, unlike most smartwatches that support only Android phones.
The band is available in a variety of colors which you can see here:
Elsewhere in the United States still, you can now order your Moto 360 from T-Mobile. Unlike the first product we discussed, the Motorola-made watch has an large array of functions and takes the form of a real round-head wristwatch.
T-Mobile is accepting $249 for the smartwatch, or $10.41 spread out in 24 months. Orders will start flying off the shelves from Wednesday even though you can still place a pre-order before then.
