Ella Birchenough, a 16-year-old girl UK girl will never forget a particular day in her life — It’s a day where the rescuer turned the rescued.
Ella, who resides in Dover, Kent, was walking down the street alongside a girl friend when she slid her BlackBerry phone into her pocket — and missed. Her smartphone, instead of finding itself in the bottom of her pocket, found itself in the bottom of a storm drain by the road.
“I thought to myself, ‘I’m not leaving this,’” Ella said when narrating the incident to some members of the press. She then proceeded to retrieve her dear BlackBerry from the pit. After several tries, she failed at holding the phone between her legs, and gave up. That was when she decided to call it quits — but she couldn’t get herself out of the hole either.
“I wasn’t really even stuck, I just need somebody to help lift me out but my mum got all panicky.” Ella cited her mum who was a Taxi cab operator. Meanwhile, her had this to say: “I was in a panic…I ran out of the house, turned the corner – but as soon as I saw her I burst out laughing.”
There’s more reason to laugh for the Birchenough family as their girl got featured in the local TV program and received a new iPhone from the hostess as her BlackBerry was reported to have broken in the ordeal.
