Unreleased Gionee Elife E8 shows up again in press shots
They many not well known in the west but Gionee is a tech company making huge strides in China, India, Nigeria and beyond. The Chinese phone maker is on the verge of releasing it’s next flagship device and the Internet can’t seem to stop teasing us with crumbs of gist:
In the newly leaked renders, we can deduce a fingerprint sensor stashed into the back of the phone, just under the camera sensor. It also seems the back cover is made of aluminum or plastic, but the side rims are coated with some kind of metal, no doubt.
We’ve seen, from it’s listing page on TEENA, the Elife E8 will come with a 6-inch Quad HD display, a 23-megapixel rear camera and 8MP front-facing selfie taker. From the look of things, this unreleased Gionee phone will be such a beast in terms of hardware.
Moving further deep down, Gionee is rooting for a MediaTek MT6795M chipset and this SoC comes with an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.0GHz, and a PowerVR G6200 graphics processor. The device will be powered by 3GB of RAM and an adequate 32GB of storage, with no space for expansion.
For the software, Gionee Elife E8 will be running on Amigo OS but before you think this is entirely a new OS, it’s not. Practically, the smartphone will be booting Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system and Amigo OS, a Gionee customization of the user interface. It will serve as icing on the cake just to make the icons and interface look more pretty.
