Vernee Appollo 2 leaks, to be world’s first Helio X30 smartphone
Vernee made an announcement sometimes in the CES event which held last month that they had a device in the making, and that this one would be launched at the MWC which is scheduled to soon hold at Barcelona in this month. What made this announcement news-worthy then was that they promised to power the phone with a MediaTek chipset, and not just any one, but the latest Helio X30. They tried to get us on our toes by teasing an image of the back of this unit last month and now, we have more to go on.
All thanks to a tipster who goes by the name of Quandt, we now know that the device would be called Apollo 2 and would also be the first handset to feature the Helio X30 chipset. The device is billed to come in two options, one having a pairing of 6GB RAM to 64GB and the other being a monster that instead carries a gigantic 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage. As if that is not enough, it would also have QHD display.
This is a huge deal for MediaTek which is trying all it can to meet up with competitors, while keeping its products affordable.
