Welcome iOS9, goodbye annoying browser ads!
iPhone users have more reason to be delighted awaiting the release of iOS 9 later this year after a recent announcement was made suggesting the inclusion of Content Blocking Safari Extensions to the planned changes for the new version of the iOS.
This welcome development, once implemented, will give users the ability to easily block online ads that pop up while they use iPhone’s Safari web browser. Apple officials manifested their growing concern on how many companies, in the pursuit of their e-commerce activities, gobble up all the info they can get about internet users and come up with ideas to monetize said information.
Some media entities, meanwhile, have expressed their own concern as to how ad-blocking on iPhones would affect many web publishers since Apple customers, based on wealth demographics, have always been a favorite target of advertisers.
Apple’s move, announced at the recent Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference held in San Francisco, reflects the company’s stand on privacy and security – two factors which they believe distinguish them from Google’s Android.
