Windows Phone Store hits 255k apps and counting
A new sun is rising at the Microsoft camp.
The days of app scarcity on the Windows Phone platform seems to be over as the tech outfit reports that over 255 thousand games and applications are now on it’s Windows Phone Store.
Though the number is belittled by the post-million app figure of the iOS App Store and Android’s Google Play Store, a journey of a thousand miles always begin with one step they say.
“Since the launch of Windows Phone 8 consumers are now accessing the store at scale,” a Microsoft spokesman said.
“We take a partnership approach throughout the development journey – nurturing ideas and providing technical and marketing support to our developer community. This combined with the strong commercial opportunity will be key to continuing our current momentum,” he added.
Microsoft was delighted to announce that they are going at a rate of 500 new app submissions per day in the Windows Phone Store, thanks to the 501,000 registered developers on the podium.
The most popular phone running on the Windows Phone 8 (and probably the Windows Phone entire) operating system is the Nokia Lumia 520.
