WP 8.1 OS hits 50 % benchmark of active Windows Phones
Microsoft will be happy to see these figures from popular in-app advertising company, AdDuplex. The report has it that Windows Phone 8.1 mobile operating system now accounts for 50 % of all Windows-powered smartphones online. The figure stood at 46 % at the end of October.
Windows Phone 8 still has 33.5 percent of the market share while older versions of the Microsoft software occupy the remaining space.
Windows seems to have a higher upgrade penetration rate than Android who’s last year-released version 4.4 KitKat was still at only 30 % as at then end of the same period. Apple’s iOS 8 had 56 % of all iPhones and iPads online despite being released only in September.
