Xiaomi gets 15 million “pre-orders” for Redmi Note
The Xiaomi Redmi Note is one heck of a time bomb waiting to explode in sales numbers, we know, but when Xiaomi tweeted they got 122 million pre-orders for the device, Twitter went wild.
Xiaomi (or the person running the Twitter account) immediately put down the tweet, later citing they meant 15 million pre-orders instead.
None of the top flagships has gotten that amount of pre-orders since Adam. Not the Samsung Galaxy S5, not even the Apple iPhone 5S, so it’s obvious Xiaomi is reporting the number of sign-ups for their new phones, exactly something similar to what T-Mobile did with the GS5. Too bad the Chinese have a little language barrier.
The Redmi Note is priced at barely $130 and $160 for the 1GB RAM (8GB storage) and 2GB RAM (16GB storage) versions respectively.
