Xiaomi launches first products in the United States
After a long time in waiting, Chinese device maker Xiaomi has finally dipped into the United States, toe first. The company says it will sell several devices in the Land Of The free in a “beta test sale” — hopefully in anticipation of their handsets eventually making it to US shores.
Among products launched in the first onslaught is an Mi 10,400mAh power bank, priced $14, and it’s 5,200mAh ($10) sibling. The Mi Band($15) and the $80-priced Mi Headphone were all listed on the company’s Mi.com international web store.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi’s Vice President Huggo Barra stated that patent trolling is among the things holding back the company from launching devices in the US, stating that he doesn’t know when exactly Mi phones will eventually arrive the US.
