Xiaomi Redmi 2 phone with 4.7″ TFT screen registered at TEENA?
China’s Xiaomi recently had the final sale of it’s best-selling Redmi 1s smartphone in India, signaling the retirement of the 4.7″ device in favor of the phablet Redmi Note. Though the company didn’t say why the Redmi 1s was pulled, one could smell that’s its just about time for change.
Today, an unannounced Redmi 1s look-alike was found at TEENA. With a repositioned speakers, notification light and LED flash, you can easily tell the unnamed Xiaomi device will succeed the Xiaomi Redmi 1s.
The alleged Xiaomi Redmi 2 smartphone, spec-wise, has a 4.7″ 720 x 280 pixels screen just like it’s predecessor. Theres a gig of RAM, 8MP/2MP camera duo, 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 8GB of storage (likely expandable). The Redmi 2 will measure 134 x 67.21 x 9.2 mm while tipping the scale at 132 grams against Xiaomi Redmi 1s with 137 x 69 x 9.9 mm measurement and 158 grams weight.
A 2,220mAh battery and Android 4.4.4 KitKat were among the things mentioned at the TEENA entry. Reports have it that the upcoming Redmi phone will feature LTE in addition to 3G and GSM connectivity.
