Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 surfaces out of nowhere
While the Xiaomi Mi Note and Note Pro are already here, not many expected the Chinese phone maker to not discontinue their Redmi Note lineup. Pictures of an alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 that popped up from China today suggests the fast-selling Xiaomi Redmi Note and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G will have a similar successor and it caught us by surprise, we must admit.
According to the report, the unannounced Redmi Note 2 is packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chispet alongside 2GB of RAM — up from the octa-core MT6592 SoC and 1 GB of RAM on it’s predecessor. There’s a bump in the camera department too. A 13MP rear and 5MP front camera setup was said to be employed in the Note 2 but nothing was mentioned of the screen which we suspect could come with at least 1080p resolution and anything beyond 5.4 inches in terms of physical size.
It will be interesting to see how Xiaomi manages to fare with the Redmi Note 2 especially now it has a lot of products in different categories. The release date of the handset wasn’t mentioned by our source.
