Xiaomi Redmi Note launched in India, LTE-capable variant arriving soon
And finally, it’s here. We are talking about no other than Xiaomi’s over-sized Redmi Note smartphone which the Chinese tech outfit just launched in India for Rs. 8,999 ($146).
The smartphone despite being in the country, won’t be sold offline or even anywhere online per Xiaomi custom. Xiaomi says it will organize a flash sales for the 5.5″ phablet on Tuesday 25th November 2014 which should commence after 6pm IST. The company failed to give a clue on how many devices will be in sale but instead said the sales will be held exclusively on Flipkart.
Going further, the company’s Vice President of International, Hugo Barra, said an LTE-enabled variant of the phone aka Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, will also be available in India shortly. He also revealed that Xiaomi plans to expand it’s service centers to more than 100 locations by next year.
For the records, Xiaomi Redmi Note has a 5.5-inch HD IPS LCD, 2 gigabytes of RAM, 13MP/5MP camera unit, 8GB of expandable storage, a powerful 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 CPU and a 3200mAh battery unit.
