Xiaomi to hit US and Canada next year
In case y’all North American folks out there are wondering when the hot seller of super-cheap smartphones, Xiaomi, will finally come to do business in your country, CEO Hugo Barra says it’s next year.
“We will start working on North America next year” Barra said. “It’s in the pipeline.”
Xiaomi is already spreading out it’s nets in 10 countries this year with Brazil, India and Malaysia top of the list.
The Chinese phone manufacturer sold more smartphones than Apple in China during the first quarter of this year — 10.4 million against 9 million — and will be looking to tackle the Silicon Valley tech giants on their home ground when they arrive the United States next year.
