Xiaomi to introduce 4G-enabled phones later this year
Xiaomi will have LTE-capable smartphones in the market by the end of this year. This was made known by president and co-founder Bin Lin while unveiling a smartphone in Taiwan.
“Our research and development on 4G phones is in full swing,” Xiaomi co-founder and President Bin Lin said at a press conference to announce the launch of a 3G 5.5-inch phone-tablet in Taiwan.
“We are hoping to launch 4G phones as soon as possible and will bring them to Taiwanese consumers to improve their Web browsing and user experience,” Lin said.
He hinted that Xiaomi devices will support TD-LTE which is very popular in China but global (and normal) LTE support will be offered too.
Xiaomi is currently seriously expanding to many countries as it’s home growth in China looks steady for now.
