ZTE sells 50,000 units of Grand S II LTE in 58 seconds
In a flash sale similar to the ones Xiaomi had been enjoying recently, ZTE has recorded an amazing record.
The Chinese phone maker sold out 50,000 units of their Grand S II LTE smartphone under the space of 58 seconds, online.
Even though it has the largest number of demand than anywhere else, China is a place over saturated with thousands of manufacturers, so phone makers like Xiaomi — and now ZTE — have employed the flash sales method which people tag “hungry marketing”.
Hungry marketing is whereby a limited number of devices are made available for buying under a very short time. Where the units are quickly sold out, other consumers who were left out of the sales will be forced to prepare their money and wait for the next time the device is being put up again.
The ZTE Grand S II LTE was introduced during the 2014 CES in Las Vegas, USA, but was launched only a few days ago.
The smartphone features a 5.5-inch Gorilla Glass display with Full HD resolution. It runs on Android 4.3 operating system on a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and 1GB RAM.
It features 13MP rear and 2MP front-facing cameras while the whole device is lit up by a 3000mAh battery.
